Mommy Nearest – I’m an Expert Mom

You may have recently seen via my Facebook page and Twitter page, that I have been selected as an Expert Mom for the Mommy Nearest app.  Mommy Nearest is a free mobile app that allows parents access to all kinds of child-related resources throughout Manhattan,  and recently expanded to the other 4 boroughs of New York City and New Jersey.

So what’s the app designed to do?  Well, picture this…you are out and about with your child(ren) and you are in need of a changing station or maybe a kid-friendly restaurant, but you don’t know where to go.  Or you were heading to a park and as you pull up the sky opens into a downpour (a very common occurrence these days in the Northeast) so now you need a quick indoor plan b.   As any parent knows, you don’t really have a ton of time to research where to go as you probably only have a small workable window of time before the troops get rowdy.  With use of the Mommy Nearest app, you can easily pull up the venue you need by category.  The app uses geo-location to see where you are and customizes the results just for you.

As an Expert Mom, I will be seeking out the hippest places to include in the app and chronicle my adventures on the Mommy Nearest blog at blog.mommynearest.com.  (Here’s an intro article including me and the ladies in my area who will also be blogging away.)
