Freshly Picked Moccasins + Giveaway

For almost the entire first year of life, my first born was shoeless. It was futile to keep anything on his feet and I was happy to let him be free as a former child shoe thrower myself.  One night, I came across Freshly Picked Moccasins.  When I saw these adorable shoes, I instantly had a flash back of my mom lovingly crafting us moccasins from suede kits when we were young.  She wanted us to be comfortable and feel the earth under our feet. My mom’s always been a trendsetter, so it’s no surprise to me that she was on to something here. 🙂

Freshly Picked resonated with me; not only because of this joyful memory, but also because Susan Petersen is a hard working mom entrepreneur (you may have seen her on Shark Tank) dedicated to crafting stylish quality products to make kids and parents happy.  After many design changes, today’s Freshly Picked Moccasins are more durable, still adorable, and stay on your child’s foot.

Each pair is crafted of 100% genuine leather and made in the US. There’s hidden elastic around the top of each shoe to easily slide your child’s foot in and out, but not so easy for them to kick off.  Elastic is a tricky thing in shoes (and socks) as it can easily fit too tight and leave marks on little legs and feet, but these don’t.  Additionally since the moccasins are soft soled, children can feel the ground beneath them helping with walking.  (FYI there are no grippys on the bottom as some parents may be used to.)
