Back to School Lunch Inspiration

I’ll admit it, I’m in denial that the summer is ending and that school is upon us again.  What I wouldn’t give for a Mother Nature free pass to bypass Fall and Winter and start a new cycle of Spring/Summer again, where my kids would also be home for more cuddles and adventures.

So what could possibly get this mama in mode, when all I want to do is bury my head in the warm summer sand?  New provisions to play with!

We have teamed up with Stonyfield, Justin’s, and PackIt to help you feel inspired as you too tackle Back to School time.

PackIt sent us their Freezable Classic Lunch Box in Polka Dots.  As with their other products, this lunch box has built in gel freezable walls.  No carrying extra cold packs to keep things cool, instead throw this box in the freezer and remove when ready to pack and go.  This lunch box chills food for up to 10 hours, has an exterior buckle for easy attachment to perhaps a stroller or backpack and a mesh drink pocket.   So far, this pack has proven very useful for us at the beach where we could easily access cold grapes and water without messy ice cubes.

We always have boxes of Stonyfield Yo Squeezers on hand, especially the much requested Blueberry and Lemonade pack.  For school, throw a squeezer in the freezer overnight.  Add to your child’s lunch box in the morning and by lunchtime your kiddie will have the perfect cool treat.  For summer adventures, I pack a bag with an extra lemonade squeezer for me, because it’s just that good. 🙂

Now what else could sweeten the pot?  Justin’s stepped in with just what we needed…CHOCOLATE!  Scooped happiness presented itself in the Chocolate Hazelnut Butter and Pretzel packs.  My son is a bit obsessed with chocolate hazelnut spreads, so as soon as I opened the box, his little hands scooped up a pack.  With an enormous mouthful, I was somehow able to understand him mutter….”Oh, soooo good…”  These will be lunchbox requested by him for sure!

We also got to try out Justin’s delicious individual butter pouches in Honey Peanut Butter and Maple Almond Butter flavors.  These pouches take up little real estate in the lunch box, yet pack a punch.  Include 1 pouch with an apple or celery sticks and your child has an instant successful school snack.  If you have a peanut free classroom, the yummy almond butter is an awesome idea.

Many thanks to these 3 brands for extending my warm weather happiness, while also inspiring fun school lunches for the year ahead!

But first one last hurrah at the beach… 😉
